Online ideas for when you have very little time to give:
5 minutes per day -- while you are scrolling anyway, seek out a few posts with #freepalestine hashtags [or #freecongo, or #freesudan]. Like, comment, share, and save them.
10 minutes per day—Consider picking a family and regularly boosting their content. (If it’s too hard to choose who, DM me, and I’ll connect you to a campaign that needs help.)
Note: By “boosting,” I mean focusing the above energy on one family and utilizing the tools of whichever social media you use to repost the content they are already making. (I will show you how!)
Consider joining Creators For Gaza, a SWANA lead group that will link you to a family you can create art for and boost their campaign.
1 hour every 2-3 days—Consider creating your own content for a family while also boosting their content regularly. You can make art and videos, write their name in chalk and take a photo, put their link over photos of plants or cityscapes, or whatever you want to post anyway. (Except for food; due to the forced starvation by the Israeli Occupying Forces, it is incredibly insensitive to post photos of food.)
5 minutes per week -- email and/or call your government representatives. Every. Single. Week.
High-priority needs in Gaza in my circle right now:
My dear friend Hala’s father was martyred this week. Their tent is shredded and the winter has arrived. I want her campaign to reach $3,000 before the end of the year so she can afford a new tent and winter clothes for the children, this will also cover the fees that GoFundMe and the banks take for the transfer. $1=kr11 [Link to her campaign]
Rawaa is being helped by a fellow member of S.O.U.P. and her cousin Ibrahim was martyred this week. Rawaa and her family would like the opportunity to grieve and mourn their beloved cousin in a way that very few in Gaza have been able to do in the last 13 months: by gathering together and eating. Their goal is $1,000 to be able to have a single meal for the loved ones of Ibrahim. They need $600 more. [Link to Rawaa’s campaign]
